If you’re not already a subscriber, you’ll definitely want to be after seeing this copy. If you’re already a subscriber, you can give a copy to your friends and family. You’ve already noticed me gushing over all of our incredible and generous tour advertisers and I’m about to gush some more! There are only a few realtors in the Denver metro area who truly understand the rich history and value in our “mid-century modern” homes and Shannon is one of them!
In full disclosure, Shannon was our real estate broker when we found our Arapahoe Acres home. We really felt that Shannon wasn’t so much a realtor, but more of a matchmaker! We did have one downside to finding our Arapahoe Acres home—we didn’t get to tour mid-century modern homes with Shannon anymore!

In addition to being a 2010 Arapahoe Acres Tour sponsor, she is also the ringleader behind the 2009 and 2010 Arapahoe Acres Tours. Throughout the year, she also donates her time and professional photography services to the Arapahoe Acres neighborhood by photographing various Arapahoe Acres homes that are featured in our community newsletters. As a special bonus for this years’ tour, Stacie has made her Arapahoe Acres photography available in our Tour Guide book, which will be available for purchase at the tour. This is a special treat for people like me, as most books featuring mid-century modern homes only show exteriors. Stacie’s photographs capture the unique interior details that are rarely seen.

We’re so excited about the upcoming 2010 Arapahoe Acres Home & Garden Tour. While Arapahoe Acres has held many tours in past years, last year’s tour was the first in a while. Last year’s tour was also the first year that we’ve donated the tour proceeds to our local elementary school, Charles Hay Elementary.
This year, we invited advertisers to partner with our tour. We’re very excited about the advertisers that are choosing to spend their advertising dollars with us. They are allowing us to contribute more money to Charles Hay Elementary. Each day until the August 28 tour, we will doing a featured blog post about each of our tour advertisers. You may already know some of our tour advertisers. I welcome each of you to check out out tour sponsors’ websites!

Just in case you can’t join us for the 2010 Arapahoe Acres Home Tour, you can still be a part of the tour. We have created a beautiful guide book featuring many homes from the neighborhood. It is a rare opportunity to buy interior photographs from Arapahoe Acres homes. And, of course, you are supporting Charles Hay Elementary and the Arapahoe Acres Historic Neighborhood Preservation.
If you can’t come to town for the tour, just select the “Guide Book Only” option in the paypal menu on the tickets page.
